About Texans for Strong Public Schools
Take a stand for the future of public education in Texas.
Texans for Strong Public Schools is a campaign of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). We are dedicated to protecting the valuable role public schools play not only in educating students, but also in supporting our local communities. We make it a priority to advocate for this with state lawmakers.
If you believe in the following, you are a Texan for Strong Public Schools:
- Strong, well-funded public schools are the best way to ensure each and every student has the opportunity to succeed.
- Our hard-earned property tax dollars must stay in our public schools, ensuring neighborhood schools have sufficient funding to educate students.
- School vouchers and other privatization schemes create a costly entitlement program that gives taxpayer dollars to schools that are not held accountable to the public for their performance.
About TASB
The Texas Association of School Boards is a nonprofit, statewide association dedicated to promoting educational excellence for Texas students and serving local Texas school boards. We represent every school board in Texas — from districts large and small, rural, suburban, and urban.
Our members are the locally elected school boards serving Texas school districts. Board members are unpaid volunteers who are dedicated to educational excellence for Texas school children. They serve because they care about their communities, schools, and most importantly, children.
